Occasionally spectacular little examples of Amethyst scepters are produced in southern India. This is a good example of one. The Amethyst "heads," have sprouted up from a drusy whiter quartz base. They are perched nicely on the bed of drusy quartz which makes for an amazing miniature. The Amethyst is glassy and transparent with needles of probably Rutile or Lepidochrosite happening inside. There are even small gemmy herkimer diamond-like amethysts growing on the scepter head. It's in great shape, no visible dings. Most of the material from here is chipped a lot.
