This is a classic example of multi-color Brazilian Tourmaline. It is also a "sceptre" crystal form. The stem is purple, then becomes blue, then green and finally the termination is pink! It was found at the Cruzeiro Mine, near San Jose de Safira, probably in the mid to late 1990's. I acquired this from Steve Smale, the well known mineral collector, however far more famous as a Mathematician. (fields metal recipient back in the 60's!). I included a pic of his label that comes with it, and yes his price was $600 for this piece. It weighs 4.7 grams.
