This is the "sword in the stone," of Tourmaline and Quartz! Whatever conditions within the pegmatite had to be ideal for such a fully crystallized Gem-quality Tourmaline to embed itself just right into the accompanying Quartz crystal. It looks as though the tourmaline were cold and the Quartz was molten when the Tourmaline was laid down into the hot Quartz. The quality of the Tourmaline is what makes this piece so special. It is a rich green that is obviously facet grade, the termination of the Tourmaline is prismatic and the entire Tourmaline is without damage from the base up. The Quartz is a light Citrine color in good condition. there is a tiny Wilbur on the "ridgeline" between the Tourmaline and the termination of the Quartz but it is not really noticeable. It comes mounted on a rectangular acrylic base. It's a real character.
