CERRUSITE1

Cerrusite comes in several colors. This one has a pinkish color mixed with a rich cognac. It is a dynamic piece that shows crystals going in several directions. It has some contacts, and one tiny chip on the smallest crystal. Overall this is an interesting piece from Tsumeb, a clasic closed mine. I included pics with black and white backgrounds to give some additional perspective. This piece has been "re-listed," with an additional facetted Cerrusite, also from Tsumeb. The cut stone weighs 20.97 carats, and was cut by american cutter Jay Medici of Ohio. Cerrrusite is very difficult to cut, as it has tricky cleavage planes, is temperature sensitive, and is very soft (ironically, harder stones are much easier to cut). There are so few cut stones on the market, it is very difficult to find anything that matches color. I am very happy how the colors match between this unique specimen, and the stone.
