This is a massive Tourmaline from a classic North American location: Mt. Mica, Maine. This specimen tells a story of tectonic proportions. The Tourmaline is bent, having experienced a probable fracture and regrowth millions of years ago. It has the classic Maine "look," to it, with a pale pink and green headed to a grass green at the terminations. The last pic is of the bottom which is solid Rubellite! Comes with its custom made lucite base (5 inches square). It weighs 2 pounds 8 ounces (1150 grams). It's in fine condition, with only minor chipping on the far right, backside (probably where it contacted the wall of the pocket). This came through Leonard Himes, who is partners with the miners in Maine. Included is his label and original price of $3,000.
