This is a gorgeous example of this form of Quartz. In the same general area of the Amethyst geodes from southern Brazil, there is another deposit that produces elegant Amethyst "flowers," like this one. They form in basalt (ancient volcanic flows), with very little room to crystallize. the result are thin 'sheets' of Quartz that catch the light and add attractive vertical composition to your collection. This piece is in excellent condition, and displays a range of color from clear to a moderate purple/lavender. The second picture shows a 5 x 3.5 cm (2 inch wide) acrylic stand as scale. This is a large piece! It is in pristine condition, and is a beautiful display piece. This came from the Hawthorneden inventory, as they had purchased it on location in Brazil. A normal retail on this piece would be around $650.
